Since 1999, thousands of Canadians have participated on The Arthritis Society's Joints In Motion Training Team to better the lives of people with arthritis. These individuals have been truly inspirational in their dedication and commitment to train and raise funds in honour of someone living with arthritis.

Joints In Motion helped me launch my quest to run a marathon and in doing so I was not only successful in achieving my goal but I was able to raise thousands of dollars for the fight to find a cure for arthritis. Keep running!

The trek to Machu Picchu in 2007 was a spiritual trip for me – I was motivated by my sponsors and my fellow team members alike. The friendships I made on the Inca Trail are dear to me. We are a group bound together because we know what it takes and we all made it. Not only did I challenge myself physically; I wanted to know everything about the Inca and the Peruvian way of life. It was like living a history lesson."

A lot of people who have arthritis have trouble getting up in the morning. When I was feeling pretty bad climbing I thought about people who have trouble doing simple things and it helped me to keep going.
